BIORHYTHM: A Continuous Sonic Experience
On June 2nd, during the 2011 Festival, New York saw the debut of BIORHYTHM: Music and the Body, a multimedia exhibition presented by Dublin, Ireland’s Science Gallery in collaboration with Eyebeam Art and Technology Center. BIORHYTHM features works by over a dozen artists whose focus is the relationship between sound and our bodies. Installations include a device that sonifies your heart rhythm into a beat to make music around, a bed that plays music directly onto the surface of your body, and a look into how your body emotionally reacts to different musical pieces.
While the Festival may be over, the BIORHYTHM exhibition will continue through the summer until August 6th, so don’t think you missed it. The gallery hours are noon to 6pm, and admission remains free to the public.
