Andy Borowitz
The Moth

Host Andy Borowitz opens The Moth storytelling event in the Great Hall at Cooper Union with a zinger: "In the name of bi-partisanship I just want to let our audience know that Republicans are capable of cleaning our environment and making our world a better place... [crowd goes silent] JUST KIDDING! [Crowd roars]

Mazz Swift
The Moth

Violinist Mazz Swift brings beauty to our ears to open up The Moth, an amazing storytelling collective that presents true stories live, told without notes and covering the range of human experience.

George Lombardi
The Moth

Dr. George Lombardi tells the harrowing tale of treating Mother Teresa in Calcutta for a life-threatening bacterial infection. When the Pope's personal cardiologist erupted "vesuviusly" at Dr. Lombardi for suggesting it was Mother Teresa's pacemaker causing her to go into septic shock, he knew he was in deep. Lobardi's delicate execution of an unfamiliar surgery allowed Mother Teresa to live another eight years.

Tricia Rose Burt

Tricia Rose Burt shares an extremely personal account at her own failed attempts to conceive a child—an existential dilemma told from a tear-jerking perspective. We applaud Tricia for her brave delivery of a hard-to-tell story.
