Carl Zimmer is an award-winning columnist for The New York Times and the author of 13 books about science. Zimmer writes regularly for magazines including National Geographic, Wired, and The Atlantic. His books include Parasite Rex and Evolution: Making Sense of Life. In 2015, he became national contributing correspondent for Stat. Zimmer’s reporting has earned awards from the National Academies of Science and the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences. In 2016, he won the Stephen Jay Gould Prize from the Society for the Study of Evolution. He appears regularly on Radiolab and is Professor Adjunct in Yale’s Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry. Zimmer’s next book, She Has Her Mother’s Laugh, is a history of heredity. It will be published by Dutton in 2018.
