Scientific American magazine editor George Musser can be found exploring the outer space of the universe and the inner space of subatomic particles. In early May, he and his colleagues won a National Magazine Award for General Excellence. Musser’s writing has appeared in the annual The Best American Science & Nature Writing anthology, and he received the Jonathan Eberhart Planetary Sciences Journalism Award from the American Astronomical Society in 2010. His first book, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to String Theory, was published in 2008.
