Go behind the scenes at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to reveal the science behind art authenticity testing and restoration. Under the guidance of Marco Leona, Scientist in Charge at the Met, future art historians will make dyes from plants and dead bugs (like the Maya and Aztec civilizations), examine historical art to determine its original source of color, and use an electron microscope to view gold in tapestries.
Note: This is a student-only program for kids in the 4th grade and up. Parents/Guardians should drop off their children for this one-hour event.
