Semra ErcinAssociate Director of Institutional Giving
Semra Ercin is currently the Associate Director of Institutional Giving. Working with the Development team, her work entails building a portfolio of private foundation, corporate foundation and government agency funders to support the World Science Festival’s near and long-term growth.
Over the past four years, Semra worked at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) as an Institutional Giving Manager, securing funding from a diverse base of foundations. Prior to BAM, Semra worked at Brooklyn Music School (BMS) as the Director of Development and Operations. At BMS, Semra ran a small administrative office while securing institutional, individual, and corporate funding for the organization. Additionally, Semra worked in fundraising and special events at organizations such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Princeton Club of New York.
Semra holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Baruch College and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Georgia State University. For fun, Semra spends her free time with her three kids in Brooklyn and plays drums in a band.
