Einstein's Dreams

Science & the Arts at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York presents the stage adaptation of Alan Lightman's internationally acclaimed book Einstein's Dreams, performed by Boston's Underground Railway Theater.

The play, an inventive and charming work, was the inaugural event in a collaboration between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Underground Railway Theater, conceived to develop new plays about science.

The performance will be followed by an informal discussion with Alan Lightman, author of the book that inspired the play, and Walter Isaacson, author of Einstein: His Life and Universe.

This event is sold out. A half-hour before the event, additional tickets may become available at the door.

  • Walter Isaacson

    Walter Isaacson is the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute. He has been the Chairman and CEO of CNN and the editor of Time Magazine. He is the author of Einstein: His Life and Universe, as well as biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Henry Kissinger.

  • Alan Lightman

    Alan Lightman's novel Einstein's Dreams was an international bestseller and has been translated into thirty languages. Both a distinguished physicist and an accomplished novelist, Lightman was the first professor at MIT to receive a joint appointment in the sciences and the humanities.
