David Deutsch

David Deutsch a Visiting Professor of physics at the Centre for Quantum Computation, the Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford University and an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford. He works on fundamental issues in physics, particularly the quantum theory of computation and information, and constructor theory.
He has written two books – The Fabric of Reality and The Beginning of Infinity – aimed at the general reader.
He is a non-stipendiary Visiting Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford, where he is a founder member of the Centre for Quantum Computation at the Clarendon Laboratory. He is an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford and a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the Institute of Physics.
He was awarded the 2023 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, together with Charles Bennett, Gilles Brassard and Peter Shor, for “foundational work in the field of quantum information”.
