Jody Oberfelder

Choreographer, Director

Jody Oberfelder is a choreographer and director who recently created her first immersive performance installation piece, “4Chambers,” which focuses on the heart. She has choreographed an array of boldly physical dances including “Approaching Climax,” “Throb,” and “The Story Thus Far.” She has directed theater and opera, most recently Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” (Brooklyn Philharmonic commission) and Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” (Orchestra of St. Luke’s commission). Oberfelder has also directed eight dance films. Her honors include a Joyce SoHo Residency, a NYFA BUILD Grant, and her selection as “Outstanding Choreographer” in the FringeNYC Festival.
