Rachel A Rosen

Physicist

Rachel A Rosen is an assistant professor of theoretical physics at Columbia University. Her research focuses on gravity, quantum field theory and the intersection of the two. She is best known for her contributions to massive gravity, a theory in which the graviton — the particle that transmits the gravitational force — has a mass. She has also helped to develop new techniques for studying various states of matter, from ordinary fluids to an exotic quantum liquid that could exist in the cores of certain very dense stars. Originally from California, Rosen graduated from Brown University and received her PhD from New York University in 2009.
