Shae Shenefield is a principal scientist in the R&D Analytical Department at Avon Products, Inc.’s Global Innovation Center in Suffern, New York with over 24 years of experience in the industry. She studied biochemistry in college but uncovered her analytical skills and passion for it while working first, as a field scientist for an entomologist at the Cornell Cooperative Extension lab in Highland, NY, then at Beaumont Research Institute running analytical experiments for Dr. Frederick Kiechle, then head of the pathology department. At Avon, Shenefield is the department’s technical lead, specializing in investigative science, and works with people from all facets of the company to help solve problems. Her team is responsible for the analytical work to support the dermal penetration studies, troubleshooting issues in manufacturing, product development, packaging, etc. and developing analytical methods.
