QED: A Reading

Alan Alda revisits his acclaimed performance as the Nobel Prize winning physicist Richard Feynman in Peter Parnell's play QED. Reading from this exploration of Feynman’s work and life, Alda brings forth a moving portrayal of one of the most brilliant and colorful physicists of the 20th century. Directed by Gordon Davidson and featuring Mia Barron as Feynman's student Miriam Field.

Following the reading, Alda will be joined by astronomer Vera Rubin and physicists Pierre Hohenberg and Stephon Alexander to further illuminate this iconic figure and his profound scientific insights.

  • Alan Alda

    Alan Alda is a six-time Emmy Award–winning actor, writer, and director. He has interviewed hundreds of scientists from around the world as host of PBS's long-running program Scientific American Frontiers, and received the National Science Board’s Public Service Award for his efforts in broadening the public’s understanding of science.

  • Mia Barron

    Mia Barron is a theater, film and television actress. Her stage credits include Springtime for Henry and Heartbreak House, She Stoops to Comedy and Hedda Gabler. She was recently in 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl, and also has a recurring role as the voice of Molotov in the cartoon network’s The Venture Brothers.

  • Gordon Davidson - Director

    Gordon Davidson is a Tony Award-winning theater director. He was artistic director of the renowned Center Theater Group in Los Angeles for more than thirty years. His credits include Broadway productions of Children of a Lesser God and The Shadow Box.
