Christina Maslach

Social Psychologist

Christina Maslach is a Professor of Psychology (Emerita) at the University of California at Berkeley. She is widely recognized as one of the pioneering researchers on job burnout. She is the author of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), and has written numerous articles and books, including The Truth About Burnout. Several of her articles have received awards for their significance and high impact, and she recently received a lifetime career achievement award for her work on burnout. Currently, she is the founding co-editor of the e-journal, Burnout Research. Her record of both outstanding teaching and research led to Maslach receiving a national award as Professor of the Year. She received her A.B. from Harvard and her Ph.D. from Stanford.
