Damian Woetzel
Damian Woetzel is a former Principal Dancer with the New York City Ballet who has moved into directing and producing. He also works with Yo-Yo Ma and his Silk Road Connect Program in the New York City Public Schools. Woetzel is the artistic director of the Vail International Dance Festival; the founding Director of the Jerome Robbins Foundation’s New Essential Works (NEW) Program, and a cultural producer for the World Science Festival. In November 2009, President Barack Obama appointed Woetzel to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Woetzel also serves on the Board of New York City Center and the Clive Barnes Foundation. In the fall of 2010 he will co-teach a new course on performing arts and the law at Harvard Law School.
