Danielle M. Brown

Marine Mammalogist
Danielle M. Brown is a PhD student at Rutgers University and an associate researcher with Gotham Whale. Her doctoral research focuses on the foraging ecology of humpback whales in New York and New Jersey, and she assists in managing the New York City Humpback Whale Catalog. Brown has previously worked as a field stranding technician with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center and is trained in both marine mammal and sea turtle stranding response. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University where she investigated humpback whale residency characteristics and potential interactions with large vessels. She has co-authored several scientific papers and book chapters, and her research was recently published in Marine Mammal Science.
