Edward Large

Theoretical Neuroscientist, Musician

Dr. Edward Large is a Professor of Psychological Sciences and Professor of Physics at University of Connecticut, where he directs research at the Music Dynamics Lab. His expertise is in nonlinear dynamical systems, auditory neuroscience, and music perception. His research focuses on the role of oscillatory neural networks in auditory neural processing. He has published dozens of articles in auditory neuroscience, focusing on the neuroscience of music, and he has been awarded numerous patents. He recently completed a three-year term as President of the Society for Music Perception and Cognition. He has received significant federal research funding, and numerous awards including a National Science Foundation CAREER Award. He recently founded Oscilloscape, LLC, a music and speech startup based in Connecticut.
