Elise Crull

Author, Physics Historian

Elise Crull received a B.Sc. with Honors in Physics and Astronomy at Calvin University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Notre Dame. She is Associate Professor of Philosophy at The City College of New York and the CUNY Graduate Center. With Guido Bacciagaluppi she authored The Einstein Paradox: Debates on Nonlocality and Incompleteness in 1935 (Cambridge U. Press 2024) and edited Grete Hermann: Between Physics and Philosophy (Springer 2017). She is author of a forthcoming Cambridge Element for theologians entitled God & the Problem of Quantum Physics, and co-editor of History and Philosophy of Science from 1750-1900 (Bloomsbury, forthcoming). Her current interests include exploring the philosophical dimensions of quantum causal models as well as relativistic and temporal entanglement.  Crull is also active in an international scholarly movement recovering the significant but overlooked roles of women in the history of quantum physics.
