Dr. Farah Alibay is a systems engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Her primary projects so far have been the InSight Mars Lander, as well as its companion mission: the Mars Cube One (MarCO) CubeSats. These missions arrived at Mars in November 2018. Alibay is part of both the team that helped build and test the spacecraft, as well as the operations team. She has also recently joined the Mars 2020 team—the next rover mission to be launching for the Red Planet. Prior to joining JPL, Alibay obtained an undergraduate and master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, followed by a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
