Senior Chorus

LaGuardia High School Senior Chorus is an advanced level mixed choir for junior and senior music majors at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, a public specialized school in New York City. Senior Chorus members are accepted into the choir based on musicianship, sight-reading, and teacher recommendations. They perform several concerts a year at The Riverside Church and LaGuardia High School featuring a variety of choral genres. In addition, Senior Chorus performs two Semi-Annual Concerts a year with LaGuardia’s Symphony Orchestra featuring standard major works. LaGuardia High School Senior Chorus members performed under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop with the Gotham SINGS! Choral Festival at Carnegie Hall. They were also a featured ensemble at Montclair State University’s 2019 Gala Choral Showcase and an invited ensemble at the 2012 Eastern Division ACDA Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. Senior Chorus has performed with renowned performers such as Hamilton’s Sydney Harcourt with the American Friends of Rabin Medical Center 2017 Gala at CIPRIANI’S, Alexander Markov in his and James V. Remington’s contemporary composition Rock Concerto at Carnegie Hall, and Grammy Award-winning composer and Latin jazz musician, Arturo O’Farrill, in the world premiere of A Still Small Voice at NYC’s Symphony Space.
