Neeraj Sakhrani

Student, ISEF Winner

Neeraj Sakhrani is a rising sophomore at Columbia University planning to major in mathematics and pre-medicine. Accompanying his academic pursuits, Sakhrani is an associate editor for the Journal of Global Health. He volunteered as an ambassador to Columbia’s Frontiers of Science curriculum, mentoring students in neuroscience, astrophysics, biodiversity, and earth science. Sakhrani also participated as a student teacher in Columbia’s Splash Program. This summer, Sakhrani will intern at the Hospital of Special Surgery’s MRI Research Lab. While attending the Bronx High School of Science, he spent three years conducting research for the RFK Science Research Institute. He utilized Electron Spin Resonance to calculate ages of prehistoric fossils. Sakhrani co-authored one published paper and presented his research at the Geological Society of America. His research received high awards at the International Science & Engineering Fair and the Regeneron Science Talent Search.
