Paula Amato is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Oregon Health and Science University who specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Some of her research explores the ways to reprogram aged, differentiated cells into pluripotent cells that can give rise to any cell type. Amato is also working to develop a gene therapy technique to prevent inherited mitochondrial diseases. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Endocrine Society. Her expertise allows her to treat patients with infertility, menopausal issues, and reproductive endocrine disorders such as endometriosis.
