Dr. Sarah Pearson is a Danish astrophysicist who received her PhD from Columbia University in New York City, where she specialized in colliding galaxies and dark matter. Motivated by her passion for science communication, Pearson started the initiative “Space with Sarah” sharing knowledge on our Universe through short videos on YouTube. Additionally, she documents her life as a scientist on social media (@spacewsarah), and often gives public outreach talks in NYC and Copenhagen. Pearson believes the key to good communication is empathy and she strives to spark her audience’s curiosity while explaining the mysteries of our Universe in a comprehensible manner. Following her PhD, she has continued to explore our Universe as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Astrophysics.
