Sean Carroll

Sean Carroll is the Homewood Professor of Natural Philosophy at the Johns Hopkins University, and an External Professor at the Santa Fe Institute. Prior to that he was a research professor at the Walter Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology.  He is a theoretical physicist whose specializes in quantum mechanics, cosmology, field theory, dark energy, particle physics and the philosophy of science.  He is also a prolific writer and has been published in both science journals such as Nature, and general interest publications such as The New York Times.  He is the author of several books, including The Particle at the End of the Universe, an explanation of the search for the Higgs boson and the Large Hadron Collider, for which he won the Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books in 2013; and Something Deeply Hidden, about the foundations of quantum mechanics. He is also the host of a Podcast called Mindscape.
