Vera Zarubin

Student, ISEF Winner

Vera Zarubin is a 17-year-old senior at the Bronx High School of Science and an incoming freshman at MIT. In the past two years, she has worked on four graduate-level research projects in applied physics and materials science that enabled her to be named a Davidson Fellow, Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar, two-times Intel ISEF Grand Award winner, MIT THINK Scholar, and ISWEEEP Silver Medalist. Zarubin is also a first-author and co-author on peer-reviewed publications in ACS Omega and OSA Publishing. At Bronx Science, she is a lead editor for the Math Bulletin journal and a student in the Mathematics and Computer Science research program. Outside of her academic pursuits, she plays clarinet in Carnegie Hall’s Studio 57 ensemble and serves as a youth leader for Concerts in Motion. Zarubin aspires to study physics, applied mathematics, and philosophy.
