Lesa Roe

Deputy Administrator (Acting) and Deputy Associate Administrator

Lesa Roe is the Acting Deputy Administrator and Deputy Associate Administrator at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. As a top government senior executive with significant and lasting impact on the Nation’s aeronautics and space future, her career spans 30 years at four NASA Centers and with industry, where she influenced the aerospace profession, her community, and national policy. She was selected as the NASA Deputy Associate Administrator and Deputy Chief Operation Officer in May 2014, where she revitalized the complex Agency-wide workforce of 51,000 with $31 billion in assets. She led integration of operations and major national programs across 10 research and space Centers, where she formed and executed technical policy and a new technical capability leadership model. Ms. Roe holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Science degree also in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
