What it Means to Be Human, which examines how discoveries in fundamental physics, anthropology, genomics, and other fields of science are influencing our understanding of uniquely human characteristics, is shaping up to be one of the World Science Festival's most high-powered events.
Moderated by Charlie Rose, this program will feature philosophers Daniel Dennett and Patricia Churchland, Human Genome Project leader Francis Collins, Nobel Laureates Harold Varmus and Paul Nurse, anthropologist Ian Tattersall, sociologist Nikolas Rose, and digital artist Jonathan Harris.
What it Means to Be Human will take place on Saturday, May 31, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM at New York University’s Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Pl (at Washington Square South).
The event is part of the Festival’s Big Ideas Series, which is supported by the John Templeton Foundation.
